Katelynn 3

Hi, I’m Katelynn! I’m a seventeen-year-old author from Nashville, Tennessee. I love to write and share my stories with others. Usually, that’s my parents, David and Kayla, or one of my five younger siblings.

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m very old-school at heart. If I’m not writing, you might find me reading, hanging out with family, singing, or listening to Southern Gospel music. If I pick what’s on the TV, it’s probably Laurel & Hardy or the Andy Griffith Show.

My Story

Ever since I was young, I’ve loved words. Books and stories have always appealed to me, and when I was young, I started writing my own. They were typical for a nine-year-old, about a girl named Sarah and her dog Milo (or something along those lines). I never seemed to complete most of them, though, and would only write a little before ditching the idea. As I got older, I wrote a few books, but they were short and, well…I was young. (Enough said).

When I was eleven years old, I discovered a new interest in history—specifically, in Abraham Lincoln. My admiration for President Lincoln led to years of intense study and research. I spent house reading online articles, watching videos, and devouring any books about Mr. Lincoln that I could get my hands on. At the time, I didn’t realize the effect it would have on my writing. But soon I began to craft stories about Lincoln, and I wrote a short historical fiction booklet about a girl who lived in the White House with President Lincoln and his family. This idea took hold and after some changes, along with many hours of writing, editing, and revising, I published my first book, At Home with Mr. Lincoln, at the age of fourteen. Two more books quickly followed to make up the Teresa Lincoln Series.

It’s been a year since my last book was published, and I’m excited to be launching my new series, Attributes of Love. This time, I stayed away from historical fiction and went into Christian fiction, following the story of the Carter family in 1970s Tennessee. I started out with an idea for a standalone title, which has now turned into an eight-book series that I never planned on writing. Oh, well….

I’m continually trying to improve my skills and make my books better than ever. My Christian faith impacts my writing, and I write clean, wholesome books that can be read and enjoyed by the whole family.

I pray that my books are not only enjoyable and will make you laugh, but will cause you to think and reflect on the love of God and the amazing story He’s writing in your life. Thanks for reading!
